University Leaders Visit Hui Ya Hospital of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University

On the afternoon of February 5, 2017, Chen Chunsheng, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, and Luo Jun, President of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), visited the Hui Ya Hospital of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, located in the Daya Bay District of Huizhou City. They visited the emergency department, the phase II construction site and the radiology department, and then held a meeting in the administration building of Hui Ya Hospital.

The SYSU leaders were accompanied by Zhang Tiancai, Deputy Secretary of Daya Bay District Party Committee, Yang Yuanhui, Deputy Director of Daya Bay District Administration Committee, Zeng Wenlang and Liao Xinhua, Deputy Directors of Daya Bay District Publicity and Education Bureau; Zhou Canquan, Vice President of The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, Qiu Shaopeng, Acting President of Hui Ya Hospital, Wu Yu, Deputy Secretary of Hui Ya Hospital, and Li Hongxia, Vice President of Hui Ya Hospital.

Qiu Shaopeng expressed gratitude to leaders of Sun Yat-sen University for their support to Hui Ya Hospital. Liao Xinhua introduced the planning of phase II construction of Hui Ya Hospital. Yang Yuanhui introduced the present economic and social development of Daya Bay District. Zhou Canquan noted that The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU has sent technical and management teams to Hui Ya Hospital since its establishment.

President Luo Jun asked in detail about the operating scale and medical resources allocation of Hui Ya Hospital, as well as the industrial structure and population of Daya Bay District. He said that SYSU’s assistance and support to the local hospital is aimed at performing the university’s function of serving the society and raising the social reputation of the university. He hoped that the local government will continue to guarantee input and the public welfare nature of the public hospital in its support for the further development of Hui Ya Hospital.

Secretary Chen Chunsheng thanked the Daya Bay District Party Committee and the Daya Bay District Administration Committee for their support to Hui Ya Hospital. He also thanked the colleagues of The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU for their work at the Daya Bay District. He said that Hui Ya Hospital has made notable progress since its establishment. He encouraged all staff at Hui Ya Hospital to improve the levels of medical diagnosis and treatment as well as teaching and research, and be geared to the high standard goal of developing medical sciences at the university.
