SYSU signs cooperation agreement with Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to jointly build affiliated middle school and primary school of SYSU Zhuhai Campus

On September 1, 2016, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) and Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone signed cooperation agreement to jointly build the affiliated middle school and primary school of SYSU Zhuhai Campus.

The attendees of the signing ceremony from SYSU included Secretary Chen Chunsheng, President Luo Jun, Assistant Presidents Cheng Huanwen, Yang Qinghua and Luo Teng; attendees from Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone included Secretary Zhang Yisheng, Director Yang Chuan, Deputy Directors Lai Xiaobin and Zhou Huogen.

At the signing ceremony held in Zhuhai, President Luo Jun and Director Yang Chuan signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of Sun Yat-sen University and Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone respectively.

At the meeting held after the ceremony, leaders of Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone expressed that they will attach great importance to this joint project and build the affiliated middle school and primary school of SYSU Zhuhai Campus into top quality schools in Zhuhai city and even in Guangdong province.

On behalf of SYSU, President Luo Jun and Secretary Chen Chunsheng thanked the Zhuhai city and Zhuhai Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone for their support. They pointed out that the affiliated middle school and primary school of SYSU Zhuhai Campus are public schools, which will make contributions to the development of SYSU Zhuhai Campus and the improvement of the basic education level in Zhuhai city. Recruitment of management and faculty teams for the affiliated schools will start this year with the plan to recruit outstanding teachers nationwide. The affiliated middle school and primary school of SYSU Zhuhai Campus will officially open in September 2017.
