Dr. Ding-Jo Currie, President of Lingnan Foundation, visits SYSU

On the morning of January 18, 2016, Dr. Ding-Jo Currie, President of Lingnan Foundation, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Luo Jun, President of SYSU, met with the guest in Zhongshan Building on Guangzhou South Campus, accompanied by Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU.

President Luo Jun introduced the recent achievements and development planning of the University. He thanked the Lingnan Foundation for its long-term support for SYSU and hoped that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in the future.

Dr. Ding-Jo Currie introduced the operations and plans of Lingnan Foundation. On the basis of learning about SYSU’s future development orientations, she expressed the hope to expand mutual cooperation and push forward the cooperation and exchange between SYSU and American universities.

The Lingnan Foundation, formerly the Trustees of Lingnan University, was first incorporated in the State of New York in 1893. As an American philanthropy, the Foundation seeks to contribute to the advancement of higher education in South China and thereby promote understanding between Chinese and Americans. Since 1979, the Foundation has offered great support for many programs of relevant schools, public infrastructure projects and interdisciplinary projects at SYSU, thus making contributions to improving the educational and academic level and promoting the international cooperation at SYSU.
