NTHU President Hong Hocheng visits SYSU

On December 4, 2015, Prof. Hong Hocheng, President of Tsing Hua University in Taiwan (NTHU) and Prof. Chi-chao Chao, Associate Vice President for Global Affairs of NTHU, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests in Blackstone House on South Campus.

Prof. Wei Minghai introduced SYSU’s recent development and expressed hope that the two universities would deepen mutual understanding, find new opportunities for cooperation, and conduct more exchanges.

Prof. Hong Hocheng expressed hope that the two universities would increase student exchanges and strengthen collaborations in related disciplines to improve the level of cooperation.

This was Prof. Hong Hocheng’s first ever visit to SYSU. His father, Prof. Ho Cheng-tzu, a renowned architect in Taiwan who served as Head of the Department of Architecture at Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, was an alumnus of SYSU, Class of 1945.

On behalf of SYSU, Prof. Wei Minghai presented Prof. Hong Hocheng with alumnus Ho Cheng-tzu’s student record.
