A delegation led by Vice Rector of University of Cologne visited SYSU

On the afternoon of March 30, 2015, a five-member delegation led by Prof. Michael Bollig, Vice Rector of University of Cologne (UoC), visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests, accompanied by Prof. Xue Desheng from School of Geography and Planning, Prof. Li Xiyuan from School of Anthropology and Sociology, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange.

In November 2012, SYSU and UoC signed an agreement of Global Network Partnership. In 2014, UoC and SYSU, together with universities from India, South Africa and Argentina, successfully applied for the Thematic Network Program of DAAD. During Prof. Bollig’s visit, the two sides held discussions on the working mechanism and implementation plan of the program. The program will start a new mode of cooperation and exchange between the two universities on the new international platform.

Established in 1388, the University of Cologne is a comprehensive research university in Germany. It has Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Faculty of Human Sciences. It has research strengths in life sciences, communication, astrophysics, European law, international law, international cultural studies and special education.
