On March 14, 2015, a 7-member delegation led by Dr. Donald Blackketter, Chancellor of Montana Tech of The University of Montana, visited Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Ma Jun, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests, accompanied by Prof. Zhang Ke, Dean of School of Earth Science and Geological Engineering, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange.
A delegation from Montana Tech of The University of Montana visited Zhuhai Campus of SYSU.
At the meeting held in the Administration Building in the morning, Dr. Donald Blackketter and Prof. Ma Jun introduced the two universities respectively. The two sides discussed the cooperation project between School of Earth Science and Geological Engineering of SYSU and Montana Tech, and exchanged views on research collaboration as well as student and faculty exchange. The guests also watched a video on the 15th anniversary of Zhuhai Campus.
In the afternoon, the Montana Tech delegation gave a lecture in the Teaching Building. Members of the delegation including Mr. Matt Vincent, Chief Executive of the consolidated city-county government of Butte-Silver Bow, introduced the status, strengths, application requirements and environment of Montana Tech.
After the lecture, the Montana Tech delegation visited the Student Experiment Center on Zhuhai Campus, accompanied by leaders of the School of Earth Science and Geological Engineering. The two sides also held further discussions on the cooperation project.
