On January 8, a delegation led by Prof. MORITA Kiyoshi, President of Okayama University and Prof. YOSHINO Tadashi, Vice President of Okayama University and Dean of Medical School of Okayama University, visited SYSU. Prof. Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests in Zhongshan Building on South Campus.

During the meeting, Prof. Zhu Xiping first extended a warm welcome to Prof. Morita. The two sides then introduced their university and international cooperation respectively, and reached consensus on initial cooperation, especially faculty and student exchange and research collaboration in the field of medical sciences.
After the meeting, Prof. Zhu Xiping and Prof. Morita signed the MOU and student exchange agreement on behalf of the two universities respectively.
In the afternoon, the delegation paid a visit to The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU. Prof. Xiao Haipeng, President of The First Affiliated Hospital, Prof. Chen Minhu, Vice President of The First Affiliated Hospital, and heads of relevant departments met with the delegates. The two sides discussed possible cooperation in Anesthesiology, Pathology, Urology and Stomatology.
Okayama University is a renowned national university in Japan. According to ESI 2014, 13 disciplines of Okayama University was ranked top 1% in the world. It has strengths in clinical medicine, physics, chemistry, life sciences, engineering and social sciences.
