In the morning on October 28, Prof. Sven Strömqvist, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research of Lund University, visited SYSU. Members of the delegation also included Ms. Sonia C Sutton, Senior International Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships and Networks, Lund university, and Ms. Sofi Shen, International Liaison Officer (Asian, China), Lund University. Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, SYSU.

Prof. Wei Minghai extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced SYSU, especially its international cooperation and exchange. He hoped that the two universities could enhance mutual understanding and trust, and start cooperation and exchange based on their respective advantages in research and innovation.
Prof. Sven Strömqvist introduced the academic advantages and development strategies of Lund University. He welcomed SYSU to join the global partnership network of Lund University, and expected more cooperation between the two universities in the future.
After the meeting, Prof. Wei Minghai and Prof. Sven Strömqvist signed a MOU and student exchange agreement on behalf of SYSU and Lund University respectively.
Lund University was established in 1666. It is one of Europe’s oldest universities and the largest comprehensive university in Sweden. It is ranked as one of the top 100 in the world. It has eight faculties, including Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculties of Humanities and Theology, School of Economics and Management, and Faculty of Fine & Performing Arts.
