"My Teachers and I"—Teachers' Day Sharing Meeting held at SYSU

In the afternoon on September 9, just before the 30th Teachers’ Day, “My Teachers and I”—Teachers’ Day Sharing Meeting, co-hosted by SYSU Youth Association, Publicity Department and Human Resources Department, and organized by SYSU Student Union, was held in Swasey Hall on South Campus. Professor Wu Chengxue, Professor Tao Liang, Professor Zhao Yong and Associate Professor Xie Shi shared their stories with the students. Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President Chen Chunsheng attended the sharing meeting.

Professor Wu Chengxue from Department of Chinese thought that scholars should have a sense of cultural responsibility; Professor Tao Liang from Zhongshan School of Medicine encouraged the students to persevere in scientific research; Professor Zhao Yong from School of Life Sciences said that SYSU provides a harmonious environment for academic pursuits; Associate Professor Xie Shi shared the stories about him and his teachers.

Student representatives presented flowers and cartoon portraits of the four teachers as gifts. A video of 90 distinguished teachers at SYSU in the past 90 years was shown accompanied by a poem reading of “Blue Silk Ribbon”.
