Deputy Secretary Li Ping and Her Group Flew to the U.S. to Participate in the 15th Anniversary of East USA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences

The other day, deputy secretary Li Ping flew to the United States to attend the celebration event for the 15th anniversary of East USA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, together with relevant persons in charge of the medical department, the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Dean’s Office of Medical Education and the Alumni Association. Meanwhile, they visited the USA-Canada alumni. Also, they communicated and exchanged with Harvard Medical School, University of Massachusetts Amherst and other renowned higher institutes.

On April 24, a dinner party was held in New York to celebrate the 15th anniversary of East USA Alumni Association of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences. Deputy secretary Li Ping, on behalf of SYSU, expressed sincere congratulations to the 15th anniversary of the East USA Alumni Association and briefed on the recent development of SYSU. The alumni all felt very proud of the achievements by their alma mater and showed their willingness to do their bits in the development of SYSU. As for the Yushu earthquake happened recently on the motherland, our alumni also expressed their concerns. The audience observed one minute’s silence and made donations for the relief.

During April 26 to 28, deputy secretary Li Ping and her party went to Harvard Medical School and University of Massachusetts Amherst to conduct exchange and communication, visited Magazine Agency, Lingnan Foundation and attended several alumni get-togethers by New York, Boston and Toronto Alumni Associations respectively. Moreover, deputy secretary Li Ping and her part accepted a live special subject interview by alumna Mu Ran, deputy editor-in-chief of and host of “City Hotline” of Toronto AI Chinese Broadcast, in which she introduced the current status of China’s higher education and the latest development of SYSU.
