The Seventh Affiliated Hospital will send some backbone nurses to receive advanced training at Birmingham City University in the UK. The First Saloon, organized by the International Medical Center of The Seventh Affiliated Hospital, was in fact a prelude to the foreign training program.

Professor Zhang elaborated the purpose of holding the English saloons---to create a good atmosphere where "Everyone learns English everywhere and everyday". The program aims to lay a solid linguistic foundation, which would contribute to ranking the Seventh Affiliated Hospital among global hospitals in the future. Professor Zhang encouraged all the participants to open their mouth and speak up, and chatted with them amiably, causing great interest in learning English among the attendees at the saloon.

The Seventh Affiliated Hospital has aimed to become a first-class international hospital since its founding, which requires all staff can speak fluent English. In order to fulfill this goal and to keep pace with the most advanced medical research worldwide, the hospital will organize various activities such as the program of English Learning & Ward Round, international academic conferences, and English saloons to establish an atmosphere where everyone can speak English at the hospital.
