President Luo Jun delivered a speech. He pointed out that the establishment of a “talent pool” is necessary for the rapid development of the University, the endeavor to become world-class university and the cultivation of young teachers. He said that SYSU will promote talent work in five aspects: basic conditions and flexibility; quality criteria and quantity requirement; disciplinary differences and categorical evaluation; strategic arrangement and leap-forward development; long-term thinking and internal improvement. He hoped that everyone will work with concerted efforts to realize the goal of building a world-class university and create a even better future for the University.

This is the largest conference held by the University for newly joined faculty members in recent years. The new comers expressed that they had a deeper understanding about the University’s reform and development as well as the University’s requirements and expectations, and they will devote themselves to teaching and research and make contributions to the development of the University.
