SYSU Signed Agreement of Joint Development with Cisco

On the afternoon of NOV.13th, the Agreement of Joint Development between SYSU and Cisco was signed officially. Xian Chaoshun, Vice-President of Cisco in China, Chen Ying, CEO of Cisco in South China, Xu Jiarui, Vice-President of SYSU, Huang Jiwu, Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology,Lin Minghe, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Information Science and Technology, Li Qiaolan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Third Affiliated Hospital and others were present at the ceremony presided over by Wen Guanghao, Director of Equipment and Laboratory Management.

Xu Jiarui, Vice-Rector of SYSU and Xian Chaoshun, Vice-President of Cisco signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties. According to the agreement, the two parties will forge a long-term partnership which will carry out a multifaceted collaboration and communication in regards to the development of the School of Cisco Internet and Technology, construction of modern laboratory, research, the assurance of the technology application of “Cisco Telepresence”, the establishment of an information-based wireless digital campus, and the strengthening of the campus network security.

Xu Jiaru said that in order to enhance information sharing and collaboration and communication among campuses, the university has successfully incorporated the international information network platform in several schools and administrative departments. The Applications of the Cisco Internet solutions to the Subsidiary Hospital will facilitate the routine of the health management, the integration of advanced communications, and further propel and deepen an information-based education and medical care.

Xian Chaoshun, Vice-President of Cisco, said that Cisco Enterprise would provide an intelligent platform of communication and cooperation for campus network, security and other aspects of SYSU. They would also, with certified partners, provide professional training for teachers, Cisco curriculum resources, campus technology lectures, student technology club, student internships and other practical support. Meanwhile, they will introduce the latest network platform and solutions to the South China, as a commitment of further support for the modernization and informationization of SYSU's education development.
