A concert held to welcome new students

A concert named “music for you” welcoming new students was held in the concert hall on the second floor of Xiong Delong Activity Center, South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University Guangzhou Campus on August 28.

Lasting one and a half hours from 19:00 to 20:30, the Chinese orchestra, the choir, the accordion band and other music clubs from the university gave many wonderful performances at the concert, featuring the beauty of Eastern and Western art.

Two hosts are presiding over the concert.

The Chinese orchestra is playing the pipa (a Chinese lute) ensemble “Send Me a Rose”, a folk song of Uygur.

The Symphony orchestra is presenting “Chopin's Revolutionary Etude” for solo piano and “Ave Maria” for horn ensemble.

A man from the choir is performing a solo “One Star Night”.

A group from the choir is performing “The Joy of Snowflakes”.

Piano Club presents for solo piano “Chopin’s Etude in A Minor ‘Winter Wind’ ”, “Chopin’s ‘Hero’ Polonaise Op.53”, “Zhang Shuai---Three Preludes for Piano: First Movement".

The guitar club and the original sound club is cooperating an R&B song “Don’t ask”.

The accordion band is bring the performance --- the accordion duo “Horse Racing”.

The Chinese orchestra is performing bamboo flute ensemble “Land Boat Running”.

The audience is applauding.

The concert ended with all the performers singing “Soaring Peaks, Everlasting Streams”, which is considered the second school song of Sun Yat-sen University, meaning the university’s glories last forever.
