SYSU Kayak Team wins 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals in The Fourth National Kayak Championship for College Students

On October 13, 2019, The Fourth National Kayak Championship for College Students ended in Yanqi Lake, Beijing. Through fierce competition, SYSU Kayak Team won 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals, ranking first in total score. This is a breakthrough again after the achievement of 1 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals in the Third National Kayak Championship for College Students in 2018. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that 18 students who participated in the contest all made it to the finals, reflecting the strength and competitiveness of SYSU Kayak Team.

In this contest, SYSU Kayak Team won 4 gold medals in MK1 200m (professional group), MK1 500m (professional group), WK2 200m (college group) and MK1 500m (college group); 4 silver medals in WK1 200m (college group), WK2 200m (college group), MK2 200m (college group) and WK2 500m (college group); and 1 bronze medal in WK1 500m (college group).

The National Kayak Championship for College Students is co-organized by the Chinese Canoe Association and the Federation of University Sports of China with the aim to spread the activity of canoeing and kayaking across the country, especially among young people. The competition of this year attracted excellent athletes from 18 colleges and universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University, and Xiamen University.
