On December 12-16, 2016, Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University received a group of about 70 EMBA students from Antwerp Management School in a one-week study tour program. During the tour, they participated in a series of lectures and company visits.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Zhang Yanmei, Associate Dean of Lingnan College extended her warmest welcome to the EMBA students and she sincerely hoped that all participants, through the trip, could deepen their understanding of China and enhance intercultural communication. Finally, she wished that they could have an enjoyable and fruitful time in Guangzhou during the week.

Two lectures under the theme of “The Belt and Road Initiative”, and “Complacencies, Lies, Panics and Crashes” were delivered by Prof. Liu Mingkang, Honorary Dean of Lingnan College and former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission. Another lecture under the theme of “Global Strategy--A Chinese Perspective” was delivered by Prof. Hu Songhua, Associate Professor of Department of Economic Management, Lingnan College.

Apart from the lectures, company visits to Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd and Medalounger factory were arranged, where participants could visit different manufacturing industries and discuss with the management team on various topics such as company operations, business models, strategic development, etc.
Fifteen students of Lingnan’s CHEMBA program were invited to attend Negotiation courses with their foreign counterparts. Lingnan’s CHEMBA students were actively involved in the class discussion and earned high praise from the course professor, Mr. Patrick Rottiers.
The study tour enhances communication and friendship of students and teachers between Antwerp Management School and Lingnan College. It also demonstrates Lingnan’s excellent teaching faculty and teaching facilities and further promotes international cooperation between Lingnan and other colleges.
