2012 National University Students Art Performance ‘May Flower—Songs of the Heart for the Party’, which was hosted by the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of Communist Youth League and undertaken by CCTV, was held in the First Studio Hall of CCTV on the evening of May 4. CCTV-1 and CCTV-3 broadcast the performance live. Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Li Changchun watched the show with representatives from different universities. This show was a theme gala written and performed entirely by 2500 students from nearly 100 universities across the country. The musical melodrama ‘My Deskmate’ which was performed by students of Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology won warm applause from the audiences. Brilliant campus play, students’ youthful and vibrant performance, and the engaging voice of Zhang Cheng, winner of the 25th Sun Yat-sen University Venus Singing Contest, brought audiences back to their wonderful school days.
