From Oct.17th to18th, the final of the 12th “Challenge Cup” National University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition was held in Dalian. Sun Yat-Sen University won two first prizes, two second prizes and two third prizes. During the final, Zhu Kongjun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SYSU, went to Dalian in person to support the competitors of our university, encouraging them to win glory for SYSU.

"Challenge Cup” National University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Work Competition is a national academic competition in science and technology for undergraduates, which is co-hosted by Central Communist Youth League, China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and All-China Students Federation. The essential task for colleges and universities is fostering talents. And “Cultivating Students” is an important theme of the work of Communist Youth Leagues in colleges and universities. The Communist Youth League of SYSU has been committing itself to the growth and education of the students, and encouraging students to innovate in academic science and technology. It has formed a preliminary work pattern, which requires more mobilization, more attention on priorities, better plans, more investment, improved mechanism and united working force. It has effectively promoted the academic innovation among students in our university.
