Yesterday, the opening ceremony of the first Nansha Wetlands Cup college debate competition was held in Matsuda Institute of Guangzhou University. Sixteen universities have send students to participate in this debate competition, including Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, Matsuda Institute of Guangzhou University and so on. This intercollegiate debate competition is one of the selection contest of eight scenic spots in Guangzhou, which was held by Yangcheng Evening News, TV Station of South and undertaken by Jinyang Net and New Express.

The theme for this debate competition is “Happy Guangdong”, whose aim is to display marvelous changes and achievements of Guangzhou in the past decade, to record new city images and spirits of Guangzhou, to list the taste of the city and promote cultural content of the city, to build up new image for Guangdong Province as well as to develop it as a province of cultural strength and realize the concept of “Happy Guangdong”.
