At the end of March 2011, the National College Tennis Competition, Guangzhou Stop--the first stop of 2011 Mercedes Benz “Youth Tennis Campus Trip”--which was held by Chinese Tennis Association ended in South China University of Technology. The Tennis Team of Sun Yat-sen University won the first prize, followed by the host team from South China University of Technology and the team of Guangdong Medical College.

The competition has been held for three years whose competitors are required to be ordinary university students while the sports specialties students are excluded. This year the competition covers 13 cities where universities intensely located and lasts for nine months. The champion team of each stop is qualified to attend the national finals.
