On November 27, the finals of the second IMA Management Accounting Case Competition sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) drew to a close. The team named Dream Chaser formed by Zhang Wei, Huang Peilong, Peng Weijian and Liu Mengning won the champion after defeated nine opponent teams with their excellent performance. As a reward for this, Dream Chaser will be the only team that is qualified to attend the 92nd IMA annual conference in June, 2011. All their expense will be sponsored by IMA. This is the highest award SYSU students have got in national Management Accounting Competition. The director of SYSU delegation is Mr. Zheng Guojian, together with Mr. Cai Xiang, Gong Kaisong and Ge Rui, they are responsible for the direction.

In the finals in Beijing, nine teams were given the case of running a ranch. They were asked to use Management Accounting tools to help the ranch. They must finish the case analysis in 48 hours and give presentation within a week. Under the direction of teachers from our school, Dream Chaser successfully finished their task and won the championship because of their good performance.

IMA Management Accounting Case Competition is a good opportunity for college students to apply the knowledge they have learned and to show their competence. More than 1600 students from 26 key universities took part in the competition. The competition is widely recognized by teachers and students in China.
