The other day, the “Universiade Star” nationwide etiquette tryout for the 2011 26th Universiade took place at Shenzhen. Graduate student Wu Chenceng, majoring in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at SunYat-senUniversity, was crowned the second.
The “Universiade Star” nationwide etiquette tryout for the 2011 26th Universiade, which was co-hosted by the Executive Office of the 26th Shenzhen Universiade Organizing Committee and Shenzhen Media Group (SZMG) authorized by Ministry of Education and General Administration of Sport of China, started from June, 2010 and went through four stages including mass election throughout 12 cities nationwide, inter-city tryout among 6 big cities, finals for isolated training camps as well as all-star ceremony. More than 120 thousand female university students participated in the competition. Wu Chenceng from SunYat-senUniversity showed wonderful comprehensive quality in her performance and finally won the second place at the final tryout held on October 23rd. She will serve as the torch bearer, flag-bearer and the ritual girl for the award ceremony at the 2011 Universiade.
