Winning the First Match, SYSU Delegation Won Two Gold Medals in ACM Asia, Harbin

On September 26, the 35th ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest was held in Harbin. Three teams of SYSU won two gold medals and one silver medal. The third team formed by Zhong Yilin, an undergraduate student of 2007 and two other students Liu Chenheng, Kong Deben, who are both students of 2008. They got the gold medal and ranked the fourth in the contest. The fourth team also won the gold medal; they ranked the fifth in the contest. The team is formed by Chen Yuanxun, an undergraduate student of 2007, Zheng Shizhen and Jiang Minhao, students of 2008. The sixth team formed by Huang Zhe, an undergraduate student of 2008, Liang Yichuan and Ruan Yongliu of 2009 won the silver medal. They are all from Schoolof Information Science and Technology. The coach of SYSU delegation is Professor Guo Songshan from the Schoolof Information Science and Technology. This is the first time since 2005 that SYSU delegation has won two gold medals simultaneously in the preliminary contests of Asian area.

This time, the Asian contests in Harbin is hosted by HarbinEngineeringUniversity. 83 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University and WuhanUniversity sent 126 teams to compete in the contest. These teams are selected from 732 teams of 158 universities through the internet preliminary contests.
