5D Space is a portal website managed and updated by students. “5D Space” sounds similar to “My Space” in Chinese, meanwhile, "5D”represents the website’s five columns and also means“I make my own decision in my own space”.

Supported by the Network and InformationCenter’s technology and support, 5D Space aims to build an online home for SYSU students and faculties, trying to serve the students, showcase their spirits, promote the interaction between students and faculty, enlighten campus cultural life, and forge new campus web culture. The website constitutes five columns, information space, interaction space, entrepreneurship space, showcase space and individual space.

The SYSU mobile website, http://m.sysu.edu.cn, the newcomer in campus network, acts as a” pocket dictionary” and “Swiss gear”, and provides concise information for students and faculty anywhere and anytime. It mainly includes eight columns, SYSU News, Email, School Calendar, Campus Shuttle, Campus Map, Emergency Phone and Digital Facts. Apart from network access from there major network operators, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, it also supports access via the campus wireless network SYSUWLAN. In the meantime, it supports IPv6 and mainstream mobile operating systems such as Iphone, Android, Widows Mobile and Symbian. The launch of SYSU mobile website symbols the University campus network marching into a new area.
