May 5th, a total of 25 students of Japanese language from Guangdong Province, Guangxi Province, Fujian Province, Hainan Province, Hong Kong and other regions gathered at our school to take part in the Fifth "National Japanese Speech Contest", in south china. Shi Qiliang, undergraduate from Japanese major (2007) of SYSU stood out from the 25 players and won the first place. She will represent south china to participate in the final contest to be held in Tokyo, Japan on Jul 26th.
The Fifth "National Japanese Speech Contest" was consisted of two parts, preliminaries and finals. The preliminaries, included eight regions, including Beijing, North China, northeast, northwest, central, east, south and southwest. The preliminaries for the south china region were sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange, Professor of Chinese in Japan Conference and Nihon Keizai Shimbun, and co-sponsored by the School of Foreign Languages of SYSU.
