Recently, some provinces, especially those in southwestern China have suffered devastating drought which is rarely seen in history, and brought on great impact on the lives of the local people. In response to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Guangdong Committee of CLY provides drought-relief-assistance to Guangxi. In the face of urgency, the CLY committee of SYSU responded positively to the mission of the Guangdong Provincial CLY and Guangdong Student Federation regarding the extension of of “Nan Yue Gan Quan” (Oasis Guangdong) Guangdong Youth drought-relief work by publicizing agenda, and actively organizing students to carry out relevant activities. As of 1 April, SYSU students have donated 117345.5 yuan. The fundraising is still under way.
