Two SYSU Doctoral Students Claim CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award

Recently, the results for the 2009 China Computer Federation (CCF) Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award were announced. With the high-quality dissertations, doctoral students Xie Yi and Li Lvzhou from the School of Information Science and Technology claimed the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award respectively. Supervised by Prof. Yu Shunzheng, Xie’s dissertation is on “Research on key technology of HTTP application-layer attack detection”, while Li’s dissertation is on “Equivalence determination of quantum computing model and some basic issues regarding quantum communication”, supervised by Prof. Qiu Daowen.

Set up in 2006 by CCF, the CCF Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award is aimed at promoting the science and technology developments in the field of computer science in China, encouraging the innovative research and the growth of young talents. The nominated dissertations are recommended by the computer science schools or departments at universities or institutions that grant doctoral degree in computer science and technology. Every unit will recommend no more than 2 dissertations, and no more than 10 dissertations in total are shortlisted for the Award every year.
