On December 25, the “2016 Big Data & Computing Intelligence Contest” Final Contest and Award Ceremony came to an end successfully. The TNT_000 team, instructed by Associate Professor Zibin Zheng, School of Data and Computer Science, Sun Yat-sen University, won the first place in the preliminaries and second place in the finals both in “Abnormal Behavior Analysis of Customer’s Electricity Consumption of State Grid Contest” and “Digging of Sogou User Personas in Big Data Precision Marketing Contest”.

The contest was hosted by China Computer Federation (CCF) and the prize pool was up to 1.2 million yuan. A total of 10,635 big data players and 6,596 teams have participated, covering all the “985” and most of the “211” institutions. There are many players from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, United States, Britain, France, Japan, Australia and other places. Hundreds of enterprises and research institutions sent their technical team to participate, making the competition more fiercely. The finals of this competition invited academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Mei Hong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Ni Guangnan, and more than 70 experts from academia, industry, the investment community to review.
It's worth mentioning that the competition time of 2016 CCF BDCI contest was almost overlapped with another contest “Weibo Heat Prediction Contest”. The TNT_000 team participated three contests at the same time during the past few months and get the champion in the “Weibo Heat Prediction Contest”.
Team introduction:
The team’s name is “TNT_000”. “TNT” represents passion and “000” represents modesty. Although the team is built less than one year, they have participated in nine data mining contests and get good results with one champion, five times of top 3 and seven times of top 10.
Team instructor introduction:
The team instructor is Dr. Zibin Zheng, an associate professor of School of Data and Computer Science, Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Zheng is the Chair of Software Engineering Department, a Youth Pearl River Scholar, a senior member of IEEE and the founding Chair of Services Society Young Scientists Forum (China). His main research interests are Software Engineering, Services Computing, Big Data Services, Blockchain, etc. He has published one book at Springer and a total of more than 100 international journals and international conferences papers, including 40 SCI journals, 25 ACM/IEEE Transactions. He won Best Paper Award at International Conference on Software Engineering, a top conference of software engineering, and Best Student Paper Award at International Conference on Web Services. The papers were cited more than 3,700 times and the H-Index was 31, according to Google Scholar.
