The Third Model United Nations Conference of Sun Yat-sen University, hosted by School of Asian Pacific Study (SAPS), was held in South Campus on May 15th where the president of SAPS Takeshi Hamashita and other professors presented. 60 teams from 12 departments of Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and South China Agricultural University got together and discussed international affairs.

The conference was consisted of three committees: The UN Security Council, Economic Commission for Europe and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Each team imitated certain countries discussing the topics concerned with ‘the influence of nuclear technology development on international safety’, ‘sovereign-debt crisis in Europe ’, ‘global governance of nuclear disasters’. After one day’s heated debate, the UN Security Council finally reached agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency and adopted the draft resolution.
