Keeping in step with mobile Internet, SYSU launched an ios app for school affairs on AppStore—iSYSU, which gained high reputation from the public. Not only does iSYSU provide students, teachers and external friends with abundant information of SYSU, but also created a “palmar university” for people from all walks of life in this age of mobile information with its portability, timeliness and other advantages. Just as the public recognized, at its original stage of designing, iSYSU advanced towards three big strategies, which are "control information”, "mobile study” and “pocketize life”.

Control Information

iSYSU saw the demand for different kinds of SYSU information from mobile users at fragmented times, in different application scenes, so that it integrated the information that users need in various dimensions. iSYSU now covers Yat-Sen Channel, SYSU News, SYSU Map, SYSU in Pictures and other school affairs information. In addition, it’s going to expand the coverage constantly, in order to meet the users’ demand for any possible information in mobile context, enabling all kinds of SYSU information “moving with the body”.

Mobile Study

On August 25, 2010, SYSU officially entered iTunes U, distributing digital educational resources for students, teachers or lifelong learners, which covered teaching handouts, language courses, academic lectures, as well as speeches, campus news and students’ activities. In the designing stage, iSYSU made full use of this resource advantage, effectively integrated the podcast resources of SYSU, making it possible for students to check those quality courses of SYSU anytime, anywhere. Knowledge is boundless and endless, iSYSU makes students’ life in mobile contexts as wonderful as always.

Pocketize Life

Not only does iSYSU provide students with all-round study information, but also provide students, teachers and friends outside SYSU with valuable suggestions on clothing, food, housing and transportation for living in SYSU. At present, iSYSU has developed as many as nine school affairs apps, such as SYSU in Pictures, Eating in SYSU, SYSU Affairs. From the moment you put iSYSU into your pocket, you own a SYSU life advisor who will serve you whenever and wherever possible.

At the present stage, iSYSU has three modules, namely BBS, News and Application. It also has nine sub-apps of school affairs. There are more surprises, SYSU is going to keeping on pushing forward the conduct of iSYSU, making greater efforts in educating and training iSYSU student team. School officials wish to infuse new blood into iSYSU team, so as to equip iSYSU with more wonderful, more powerful functions in the next stage.
