The Photography Exhibition “Israel in the Eyes of a Chinese” Displayed in the Library of South Campus

The photography exhibition “Israel in the Eyes of a Chinese”, which is held by Sun Yat-sen University and Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou, opened in the library of south campus on the morning of March 22th. Israel Consul General Avraham Nir, the Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University Yan Guangmei, the Chief Librarian Cheng Huanwen, the photographer of this exhibition-Mr Liu Yuan who is a member of China Photographers Association and a director of Guangdong Photographers Association , and Mrs Liu attended the opening ceremony as well as nearly 50 teachers and students from the university, which was hosted by Xu Yao, the deputy director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

The Vice President Yan Guangmei and Israel Consul General Avraham Nir delivered welcome speech and opening speech respectively. Besides, the photographer Mr Liu Yuan introduced the visit to Israel and shared the experiences of taking these photos to the audiences.

Before the opening ceremony, the Vice President Yan Guangmei met Israel Consul General Avraham Nir and the party, where both sides expressed their wish of enhancing the mutual cooperation and establishing academic ties between Sun Yat-sen University and the universities in Israel.

These photo series, whose name is “Israel in the Eyes of a Chinese”, show various places of historical figures and cultural heritages in Israel as well as the unique Jewish Culture. It will be on display for two weeks in the library of south campus.
