In order to enhance the cultural construction of Guangdong Province, to improve the humanity scientific research and to extend the influence of Lingnan Poem Forum, “Lingnan Poem School” Seminar was held in Chinese auditorium of SYSU at January 8th, co-hosted by Guangdong Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Sun Yat-Sen University and Institute of Chinese Ancient Literature of Sun Yat-Sen University.

Mr. Liu Sifeng, belonging to Guangdong Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, gave the opening speech. More than 80 scholars from home and abroad attended this seminar and discussed heatedly on various topics, such as the standard of poem school, the transformation of Lingnan poem style, the activities of Lingnan poets in history and values of representative Lingnan poets’ poems.

Although the research on the history of Lingnan Poem is not an obscure scientific field, it is the first time to hold a seminar with the theme of “Lingnan Poem School” in China.
