On the night of 19 November, a lecture---"Pinghe Lectures on English Learning: The Communication Etiquette Worldwide”---was given in Zhuhai Campus by Kelly Morine from Canada, director of Pinghe English Teachers’ training and Project Development. This series of lectures are initiated by both the Zhuhai Pinghe Language and Culture School and School of Foreign Languages of SYSU.

With the deepening of globalization, more and more attention has been paid to the communication etiquette among different countries. And the aim of this lecture is to introduce the basics on international communication etiquette and has attracted a lot of students who wanted to learn more on that. Focusing on What, Why and How, Kelly has introduced the communication etiquette and the mistakes often made in communication. Pictures are shown to the students and Kelly interacted with them, all this made the atmosphere easy and free. Especially when Kelly showed the correct way to shake hands, all the students joined in, and they watched carefully and practiced.

Just as the compere has said, “etiquette cannot be cultivated within one day, we have to pay attention anytime and keep practicing”. One of the students present said, “In this lecture, I have learnt English, but the most important thing is that I learnt the practical communication etiquette and corrected the mistakes made before in communication”.
