With the support from The Fifth Affiliated Hospital and SYSU Red Cross Association, SYSU Youth Volunteer Association held “Life thrives with sound Health” Free clinical consultation event at Zhuhai Campus on 9 May.
13 doctors from the ophthalmology, dermatology, psychology, surgery, internal medicine and 3 other medical departments of The Fifth Affiliated Hospital carried out physical examination, administered medical prescriptions, and provided daily health consultations for students and teaching and administration staff of the University free of charge at the clinic site. Many students were attracted to participate in the blood pressure measurement, age balance game and medical dressing presentation provided by the Red Cross Association. And volunteers gave out bookmarks and brochures of health knowledge to students passing by, so as to promote common health knowledge, and provided free liangcha(herbal tea) to students and imparted on them measures of sunstroke prevention.
"The free clinic at campus not only facilitates the medical care, but also provides us with some medical knowledge that we tend to ignore in our daily lives. The free clinic embodies the care for life, especially in this hot weather”, a student receiving free clinical consultaiton told the reporter.
According to sources, free clinical consultation event is a feature activity that has been carried out by the Youth Volunteer Association for years. A student in charge of the Association noted that, they would hold lectures about the knowledge of health and sub-health, promoting the philosophy of healthy study and life to the students.
