On October 20, 2015, the the expert group of the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education of Ministry of Education (MOE) visited The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, The Third Affiliated Hospital, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, and a non-directly affiliated hospital of SYSU—Zhongshan City People’s Hospital.
The experts listened to the reports on the overview, educational management, teaching characteristics and results, and development and planning of the hospitals. They held discussions with hospital leaders, clinical administrative staff, teaching faculty members, and senior medical students respectively. They visited the hospital history museum, the departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Neurology. The experts observed teaching activities, assessed teaching materials, and assessed the community teaching as well.
