Zhu Xiping (L), a professor at the School of Mathematics in Sun Yat-sen University, receives the Chern Medal award at the opening ceremony of the 7th International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians (ICCM) in Beijing, capital of China, Aug. 6, 2016. The Chern Medal, an international award recognizing outstanding lifelong achievement of the highest level in the field of mathematics, is named in honor of late Chinese mathematician Shiing-Shen Chern (Chen Xingshen).
