Biography

Wang Fuming

Professor Wang Fuming is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the director of State Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Control and Intelligent Construction and Maintenance of Tunnel Engineering, the director of the International Joint Research Center for Trenchless Technology in Underground Infrastructure and a member of the 13th and 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Professor Wang has continuously engaged on the theory and technology of disaster prevention and control of water conservancy in infrastructure. He has made systematic innovations in preventing and treating seepage and water gushing of infrastructure projects and diagnosing and treating hidden diseases. These innovations are widely used in the anti-seepage repair and emergency rescue of infrastructure, solving multiple major engineering problems. He has won several awards, including the second prize of the State Technological Invention Award, the second prize and third prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the International Trenchless Academic Research Award and the Henan Scientific and Technological Outstanding Contribution Award.

He advocated for establishing the "BESTDR Infrastructure Hospital" and explored mechanisms for university-local government-enterprise collaborations, industry-research-education integration, all-round openness and domestic and international sharing models. The Infrastructure Hospital has been building a cross-regional, cross-industry, comprehensive and networked infrastructure hospital system, forming an open and sharing platform with industry-research-education integration in civil engineering.
