Tianxin Lin, male, a native of Shantou, Guangdong Province, was born in May 1973. He is a Professor of Medicine and Doctoral Supervisor, a recipient of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and is selected for the National Plan for the Special Support for Top-notch Talents. He received his master’s degree from the seven-year clinical medicine program in 1998 and worked at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital. From 2001 to 2004, he worked as a visiting scholar at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Prof. Lin earned his PhD degree in Surgery of Sun Yat-sen University in 2008.
Prof. Lin has long been devoted to the research of the precise diagnosis and treatment, basic research and translational application of urological cancer. He was awarded the National Award for Excellence in Innovation, the Ding Ying Science and Technology Award in Guangdong Province, the First Prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Wu Jieping Urological Surgery Medical Award. He is also serving as a standing member and secretary general of the Chinese Urological Association, the Vice President of Chinese Urological Doctor Association, and the Chairman of the Guangdong Urological Association.
Prof. Lin became the Vice President of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital in January 2016. From November 2019 to August 2021, he served as the President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at the First People's Hospital of Kashgar Prefecture in Xinjiang. From October 2021, he became the Director of the Hospital Management Department at Sun Yat-sen University, and later in November 2022, he became the Deputy Director of the Health Science Center, SYSU. Since December 2023, he has been serving as the Assistant to the President of Sun Yat-sen University.
