Biography

Tai Zhongzhi

Vice President

TAI Zhongzhi, PhD, was born in October 1967. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from the Department of Physics at Northeast Normal University in 1991, his Master’s degree in Managerial Economics from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2004, and his PhD in Materials Science from Central South University in June 2010. He worked in the Scientific Research Department at Northeast Normal University in 1991. 

In February 1997, he transferred to the State Education Commission (which was renamed the Ministry of Education in March 1998) and served in the Department of Science and Technology successively as associate chief officer, chief officer, and deputy director of the Planning Office, deputy director and director of the High and New Technology Office, and director of the Basic Research Office.

 In July 2017, he was appointed as Director of the Office of Scientific Research at Sun Yat-sen University. In November 2017, he was appointed as Assistant President of Sun Yat-sen University while retaining Director of the Office of Scientific Research. In November 2018, he was appointed as Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University.
