YANG Qinghua is a researcher, who was born in October, 1965. He received university education and his Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), and worked at SYSU upon graduation in 1989. Later he obtained his Master’s Degree in Sociology from SYSU. He has successively served as Deputy Director of Office of Discipline Development and 211 Project, Graduate School, Deputy Director of Development and Planning Office (Office of 211 Project, Office of 985 Project), Deputy Director of Development and Planning Office as well as Director of Office of 211 Project and 985 Project, Director of Office of Strategic Planning and Discipline Development, Director of Office of Strategic Planning while concurrently holding the post of Director of Planning Department. He was appointed as Assistant President of SYSU in September 2015, and held concurrent positions as Director of Office of Strategic Planning and Director of Planning Department.
In April 2017, he became a member of the Standing Committee of SYSU Party Committee and Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University. In December, 2023, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of SYSU Party Committee and Executive Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University.
