Chinese Journal of Cancer, which is issued by Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, has been reckoned as one of the Best 100 Academic Periodicals in China. And this list of periodicals has been published by Instituteof Scientific and Technical Information of China on November 26.

In 2008 Chinese Journal of Cancer has been credited as one of Top Chinese Scientific Periodicals by Ministry of Education. And now the Best 100 Academic Periodicals in China are selected out of nearly 5000 periodicals, and Chinese Journal of Cancer ranks among them as the only one in the field of cancer, which objectively shows that Chinese Journal of Cancer has profound influences within domestic academic journals and is beneficial for the SCI authentication in the next year.

According to the statistics of General Administration of Press and Publication in 2009, there were altogether 4926 periodicals on natural science and technology. Based on the Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations, Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database set up by Instituteof Scientific and Technical Information of China is a selection of scientific and technical periodicals which have high credit form experts and play important roles in various fields. The indexes in the statistics can well demonstrate the development of scientific and technical periodicals in China and the achievements in Chinese science. The various academic indexes of the Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations are first analyzed, and then the experts evaluate these periodicals, finally we have the Best 100 Academic Periodicals in China which is a statistical analysis of all the scientific and technical periodicals of SCI, EI and other databases.
