Ke Lin College of Hospital Administration Was Established

On April 12, 2019, Ke Lin College of Hospital Administration at The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU) was established and the first training session was held. Luo Li, Deputy Director of Hospital Management Institute, Fudan University and other management experts delivered lectures on medical reform, professional management and emotional intelligence, etc.



The Hospital Led the Establishment of Musculoskeletal Oncology Specialists Alliance

From April 5 to 6, 2019, the annual Meeting on Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Oncology was held in Guangzhou. More than 200 experts from all over the country attended the establishment ceremony of the alliance, and conducted in-depth discussions on the popular issues and difficulties in the field of musculoskeletal oncology.


Professor Xiong Yan Won the Outstanding Paper Award of Peking Union International Summit for Emergency Medicine

From April 12 to 14, 2019, the Peking Union International Summit for Emergency Medicine was held in Beijing. Professor Xiong Yan, Deputy Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine, reported "Real World Research on Cardiac Arrest" to the conference, presenting research achievements of the hospital and won the “Outstanding Paper Award”.


Dr. Huang Libin Named the Best Oral Abstracts Presenter of 12th SIOPasia 2019 Congress

From April 3 to 6, 2019, Dr. Huang Libin from Department of Pediatrics, was named the Best Oral Abstracts Presenter on the 12th International Society of Pediatric Oncology Asia 2019 congress held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Huang Libin, made an academic speech on “Intensive chemotherapy with lymphoblastic-element regimen improve the outcome for children with acute myeloid leukemia”. The speech attracted widespread interest and discussion.



Chairman of the Global Strategic Cooperation Department, Brigham and Women's Hospital Visited the Hospital

On March 31, 2019, Professor Mark Alan Davis, Chairman of the Global Strategic Cooperation Department, Brigham and Women's Hospital, visited the hospital. The two sides conducted an in-depth discussion on cooperation in the fields of cancer, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine and precision medicine.


Professor Davis said that there is great potential for joint development due to numerous similarities between our two hospitals. After the meeting, Professor Davis visited the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Center for Private Medical Service & Healthcare, and Department of Gynecology & Center for Reproductive Medicine.


Delegation from Curtin University Visited the Hospital

On March 29, 2019, a delegation led by Professor John Cordery, Provost of Curtin University, visited the hospital and held an academic lecture. The two sides reached further consensus on joint training of medical students, short-term training of nursing staff, joint research, and joint training of general practitioners.


Prof. Archie Clements, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Professor William Hart, Dean of Curtin Medical School; Professor Phill Della, Dean of Nursing School, and Professor Daniel Xu, Chair of GP Advisory Group lectured respectively on Australian medical service quality improvement, nursing service research and general practitioner education.


The Hospital Explored Cooperation Possibility with University of California, Berkeley

On April 1, 2019, Prof. Xiao Haipeng, Vice President of SYSU and President of FAH-SYSU; Prof. Kuang Ming, Vice President of FAH-SYSU; Dr. Wang Haibo, Director of Clinical Research Center; representatives from Office of International Affairs of FAH-SYSU, and representatives from Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU held a video conference with representatives from CITRIS of the University of California, Berkeley to explore cooperation possibility on innovative research projects such as robotic surgery application, big data, artificial intelligence, etc.
