New World China Land Limited Supports FAH-SYSU to Fight COVID-19
On January 26, 2020,Mr. Zheng Zhigang, Executive Chairman of New World China Land Limited, provided financial support to the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University for purchasing urgently needed medical supplies, including protective masks, gloves and suits to ensure safety of medical staff in the frontline.
In the past few days, the hospital has mobilized all staff to combat Coronavirus Disease 2019. On the evening of January 24, 2020, the first medical teams rushed to Wuhan, and formally entered Hankou Hospital on January 26 to take over the respiratory wards and carry out the treatment.
At the same time, dedicated medical staff in Guangzhou stuck to their posts during their Lunar New Year holiday. The hospital also provides free online consultation service for patients to prevent cross-infection.
Priceless Love without Boundaries
On January 27, 2020, Ms. Tan and her fellow students who were studying abroad in Japan immediately contacted a nurse in EICU, the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University when they learned about the domestic epidemic. The overseas students offered to donate a batch of masks.
37 Interactive Entertainment Group Provided Support to FAH-SYSU for Epidemic Prevention and Control
Recently, the 37 Interactive Entertainment Group made a donation to the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University against the Coronavirus epidemic. Psychological Support Working Group Set up in FAH-SYSU to Provide Counselling
Recently, the Department of Neurology in the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University and the Department of Psychology in Sun Yat-sen University jointly established a psychological support working group and wrote a guide for medical staff involved in the fight against the epidemic, providing mental health services and psychological crisis interventions.
Report from Wuhan: the Medical Team from FAH-SYSU Rescued A Critically Ill Patient with Pneumothorax
On the morning of January 31, 2020, Dr. Wu Jianfeng, Dr. Si Xiang, and Dr. Yi Hui, medical team members in Wuhan from the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University successfully rescued a patient with pneumothorax during a ward rounds inspection at Hankou Hospital. The 75-year-old male patient was admitted to Hankou Hospital due to fever, cough, and shortness of breath. His spouse and children living with him were being treated in Hankou Hospital for infection with Coronavirus disease as well.
This is the first successful treatment of patients in critical condition with bedside ultrasound developed by medical team members from the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. The application of this technology has greatly improved the bedside medical treatment ability of critical cases.
After the successful rescue, the patient gave the experts the thumbs up.
More Doctors to Provide Free Online Consultation Service
The free online channel in the APP of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University has received 1,513 consultations by February 3, 2020.
Meanwhile, doctors in the hospital actively participated in the online consultation channel training. 97 doctors have opened free online clinics. It is reported that the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University is the first in the province to provide free online consultation. Online consultation will reduce the risk of cross-infection of patients and alleviate the pressure of diagnosis and treatment during the Coronavirus epidemic.
Donation Received in Hui Ya Hospital of FAH-SYSU
Recently, the Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone Charity Federation made a donation to Hui Ya Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University for the purchase of negative pressure ambulances and stretchers.
