On the afternoon of August 8, Zheng Detao, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, went to Huiya Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University to investigate the construction situation. He was accompanied by Liu Guanxian, Deputy Mayor of Huizhou City, Hou Jingneng, Secretary of Daya Bay District Party Committee, Xia Lianghui, Assistant to SYSU President, Yan Churong, Secretary of The First Affiliated Hospital Party Committee, and Liu Xiaolin, Deputy President of The First Affiliated Hospital.

Secretary Zheng Detao listened to the introduction by relevant leaders, and learned about the overall plan and progress of the construction of Huiya Hospital in detail. He pointed out that Huiya Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University is built according to high starting point and high standard. Huizhou Municipal Party Committee and Huizhou Municipal Government, Daya Bay District Party Committee and Daya Bay District Government ensure that the hardware construction reach the standard. Sun Yat-sen University and The First Affiliated Hospital are responsible for the software construction including the talent team and scientific management. The construction and operation of Huiya Hospital will become a new milestone in the strategic cooperation between Sun Yat-sen University and Huizhou City. Secretary Zheng Detao stated that Sun Yat-sen University, The First Affiliated Hospital and the local governments will work together to build Huiya Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University into a first-class modern hospital in Guangdong province and gradually expand its influence.

The group led by Secretary Zheng Detao and leaders of Huizhou Municipal Government also held a special seminar on the construction of Huiya Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.
