30 percent of senior citizens might suffer from Senile Dementia and the existing drugs can only ease the illness development for one to two years.
The research group from Sun Yat-sen University successfully synthesized vaccine that could stimulate the body to produce antibodies against Senile Dementia. The vaccine now is under the experiment and research stage.
People will suffer from “Senile Dementia” or the “Alzheimer Disease” once they get “senile plague” on their brain tissues. There are about 5 million Senile Dementia patients in China. Some organizations estimate that the number will keep increase and China will have the largest number of Senile Dementia patients around the world unless prevention measures can be found.
Good news arrived in recent days that the research group in Sun Yat-sen University successfully synthesized the vaccine that could stimulate the body to produce antibodies against Senile Dementia. However, the vaccine is still under the experiment and research stage. There are still lots of scientific difficulties from laboratories to clinics.
There is still a long way to go before effective vaccine comes into market. Experts said that hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and other basic diseases could be effectively cured by exercising our brains and bodies more frequently. It would be more efficient if drug therapy was used in the early period of Senile Dementia.
