Guanghua School of Stomatology Signed a Cooperation and Exchange Agreement with Dental Medicine School, University of Pennsylvania

On September 27, 2011, Professor Syngcuk Kim, Vice-Dean of Dental Medicine School, University of Pennsylvania, visited Guanghua School of Stomatology of our university, and signed a cooperation and exchange agreement with Hospital of Stomatology on behalf of Denis Kinane, Dean of Dental Medicine School, University of Pennsylvania. This exchange agreement fully affirmed SYSU Stomatology Hospital’s comprehensive strength in medicine, teaching, research and administration, and demonstrated once again the leading position our university’s Stomatology Hospital held in the domestic stomatology field.

At nine o’clock in the morning, Dean Ling Junqi and Vice-Dean Kim signed the official agreement on behalf of medicine schools from both sides respectively. After the signing ceremony, Professor Kim gave a keynote speech titled “Modern Dental Endodontology”, and Dean Ling Junqi took the floor on “The Current Situation and Development Trend of Chinese Root Canal Therapy Technology.”


Established in 1878, Penn Dental Medicine is one of the oldest university-affiliated dental schools in the US, with a history of forging precedents in education, research and patient care, and now is one of the top US dental schools in terms of overall strength. Dean Ling Junqi had led a delegation to visit Penn Dental Medicine in October, 2010. After signing the agreement, the two schools would actively promote academic cooperation, staff visit exchanges, and talents co-cultivation, so as to push both sides’ academic exchange and cooperation onto a new level.
