【Yangcheng Evening News】Joint Construction of the International Cooperative Research Institute of Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment

Yangcheng Evening News reports, among patients with colorectal cancer, generally only one third of them can be effectively treated by chemotherapy, while another one third ineffectively, and the last one third even gets harmed by it. However, the situation is expected to be improved. Initiated by the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (Guangdong Gastrointestinal Hospital), Sun Yat-sen University has signed a letter of intent with Arizona State University to cooperate on the joint construction of Research Institute of Colorectal Neoplasms and Vital Signs.

It is reported, the representative of Arizona State University is Nobel laureate Professor Leland Harrison Hartwell, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his contribution to the cell cycle study.

A few days ago, he represented Arizona State University, where he worked, to sign an agreement with Sun Yat-sen Universityon constructing jointly the International Cooperative Research Institute of Individualized Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment (Biological Features).
