2009 Zhongming Scholarship Award Ceremony and the Inspirational Lecture of the Sponsored Students Held on East Campus

On November 1, 2009 Zhongming Scholarship award ceremony and the inspirational lecture of the sponsored students were held on the East Campus of SYSU. Four hundred teachers and students from nineteen colleges in Guangdong province participated in the event. Zhu Kongjun, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee from SYSU, Luo Haiou, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee from Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, Lin Jingbo, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art attended the lecture. The ceremony was presided over by Chen Xinyu, the Deputy Chief Editor of Yangchen Evening News Press Group.

Twelve years ago, Yang Guoqiang, the Chairman of the Country garden Holdings, Ltd. Entrusted Yangchen Evening News to establish Zhongming Scholarship. The lecture flashed back on a journey of responsibility, sincerity and touching moments over the past twelve years Over the past 12 years, Zhongming Scholarship has issued a total of 15,000,000 yuan, sponsored 5,380 students and solved the basic needs of the sponsored students so that they are able to concentrate on their study, finish their education, and succeed in life.

The Deputy Secretary Zhu Kongjun gave a speech at the lecture, emphasizing the importance of integrity. He said the lecture is a vivid lesson which instills senses of honesty on the sponsored students. He expected the sponsored students to be motivated by the lecture, accumulated the knowledge, enhance their ability, and become valuable and useful people.

The representative of the sponsored students and the representative of the inspired by the spirit of making contribution to the society and donating money for education, graduate students said they would study harder, work harder and, express their gratitude in action.
