Donation Ceremony for “Qianhe Scholar Fund” is Held on the South Campus

On the afternoon of Nov.11^th, the donation ceremony for “Qianhe Scholar fund” was held on the south campus. Established by Guangdong Qianhe Community Foundation, the fund is to donate 15 million rmb per year to support the School of Sociology and Anthropology to carry out such activities as the "Qianhe Academic Forum”, "Qianhe Academic Luncheon Party”, with an aim to build a long-standing and solid platform for academic communication, which can also boost the academic exchange and co-operative research. Liu Xiaogang, President of Guangdong Qianhe Community Foundation, Li Peilin, Chairman of Chinese Sociology Society, Li Ping, deputy Secretary of Party Committee of SUSY, Cai He, Dean of the School of Sociology and Anthropology, Ma Guoqing, deputy dean of the School of Sociology and Anthropology and others were present at the ceremony, which was presided over by Zhou Daming, Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Sociology and Anthropology.

On the evening, the first speech of “Qianhe Academic Forum” took place in Huaishi Hall. Li Peilin, Chairman of Chinese Sociology Society and Director of Institute of Sociology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a lecture titled Social Construction and Chinese Experience, which was welcomed by teachers and students. The forum was packed that many were unseated throughout the lecture.
