PK War of Media Platforms

In a high-speed Internet era, the new media burgeoned. Some think this has caused huge impacts on newspapers and other print media and television etc, still others think the net media will replace the other media in the near future.. Net media, print media, television ... ... How should we treat the PK war on media platform? On the evening of December 12^th, in Zhuhai campus of SYSU, guided by the Organization Department of the school Party Committee and sponsored by Sun Yat-sen Qiujin Newspaper Office, the "dialogue with the media people" forum had put forward a new perspective for us.

The well-known M.C. of TVS Ma Zhihai, the editorial of Southern Metropolis Daily Gou Hua, as well as Web editor of Southern Metropolis Daily Yi Haiyan were invited to attend the forum, talking from their own professional stances, of views on the competitions among the media today. They all believed that, these three media are not natural antagonists, they will eventually be integrated and formed a pan-media era. Among them, Ms. Yi Haiyan advanced that "the brilliant things about the fusion of old and new media is not the predatory partition and compromise, but rather the innovative integration and transcendence." Mr. Gou Hua held that in an Internet era, every network name is likely to become a network journalist, so that people all over the world will be able to obtain news promptly and experience the timeliness of news.

Not only did the three journalists share their views on today’s media development with the students, they also talked about their own experiences in the media industry. Mr. Ma Zhihai remarked humorously, "Cherish life, and keep away from the news." He compared the selection of news to eating buffet, no matter how delicious the food is, we should take it according to our appetite and not be greedy. “I only read news I wanted to read, is the news real”? You will be the judge. People are supposed to have their own tastes and temperament. As for the profession of journalism which appeals to many students, Ms. Yi Haiyan gave her own definition, "Journalists should have their own inner persistence in the face of reality, should possess their own value judgment, to an extend that when the society weeps, you offer consultation,; When the society laughs, make sure it is not laughing too fanatically.”

At the forum, the speech of the three guests elicited enthusiastic response from the students. After the forum, the students surrounded the three famous journalists fervidly, exchanging ideas and taking photos.
